Description

Carcharocles Tooth Fossil for Sale – A Megalodon Tooth is a large, fossilised tooth from the extinct prehistoric shark species called Otodus Megalodon. These teeth are highly sought after by fossil collectors and are prized for their size, shape, and rarity.

Megalodon teeth are typically larger and more robust than those of modern great white sharks, with some specimens measuring over 7 inches (18 centimeters) in length. They have a distinctive triangular shape with serrated edges that were used to tear through the flesh of the megalodon’s prey.

Megalodon teeth are usually found in sedimentary rock formations or in marine deposits, they can be identified by their distinctive black colour and characteristic enamel patterns. Because Megalodon sharks lived approximately 2.6 to 23 million years ago, the only way to obtain a Megalodon tooth is to find a fossilised one that has been preserved in the earth’s crust.
