Description

Zarafasaurus Oceanis (Elasmosaurid Plesiosaur)

Approx Age: Late Cretaceous Period, 66 -72 Million Years

Location: Northwestern Morocco, Khouribga

Zarafasaura is an extinct genus of elasmosaurid plesiosaur.  These specimens were found in the Northwestern region of Morocco in Phosphatic limestone deposits, which seems to bare very rich marine vertebrate remains. Zarafasaurus was a relatively small plesiosaur, measuring approx 4-6 metres, so could this be the elusive Loch Ness monster!!
